Getting ready for a 5K!

I registered for two 5K races last night! The first is on 10/25, the second on Thanksgiving Day. I am also searching for a 10K in December. Hopefully, I'll find something or I'll just have to create my own!

Had a great run this morning. I seem to do much better if I run before 8am. Unbelievable to me - but true. My speed is getting a little bit better. I have shaved off 15 seconds per mile. So, instead of being really, really slow - I'm just really slow.

I've been finding some fun tools on the internet like mapmyrun.com. Love it. And, I am using an online training program called Training Peaks. Also, beginning to understand that I can't use running as an excuse for stuffing 500 pounds of food into my mouth on a daily basis. That logic is starting to catch up with me. The jeans don't lie. For about 2 weeks, I was able to lie to myself with this line - "oh, it's just because my muscles are getting bigger". Well, my brain must have been getting smaller.

Anyway, that's all the news I have. Hey, nice moves Casey. I've seen some of those moves in Vegas. Thank goodness that "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".

I am so impressed with your drive. Good for you.
I guess you are right about the jeans not lying. I just ate lunch on the run, standing up, but I guess those calories still count...
Meantime, about Casey... LV too, huh? I never should have let her out of the house 15 years ago.

Beth - you are kicking butt! I am so impressed. A race on Thanksgiving Day? I think you just discovered the way to make it through the Holidays without packing on a bunch of pounds...register for races to keep you motivated! Thanks for your post and keep it up!

I think you may have me confused with someone else. Me? Dancing in Vegas? Mom, she lies. ;)
